Does Alcohol Have Any Place In How We Can Solve Our Problems?

(Akiit.comWhen we are in the throes of an addiction, nothing else can seem to matter. It’s nothing new; after all, a lot of people drink to solve their problems. But, is alcohol any form of cure for stress in life? A lot of us look forward to that glass of wine after a difficult day in work, and while one might not hurt, one can become ten! So, why are we so reliant on alcohol to solve our problems?

Ultimately, we have a drink at the end of a difficult day to wind down; it helps us to relax, because we think that this is what we need to escape the troubles of the day. But, of course, alcohol is a depressant. In other words, it slows down the brain and the processes of the central nervous system. And, while we can get into the habit of having a glass of wine after a day at the office, it is more an avoidance tactic than anything.

You are far better off confronting whatever issue you have, and yes, will this is easier said than done, the thing that spurs people on to confront these issues is when everything has got out of control. For example, you may find yourself in trouble with the law, or get a dui. This is surprisingly common, and while you can get legal defense, there are lawyers like KLG Defense and you can view their website for more information, it’s still not getting to the heart of the problem.

Ultimately, alcohol is a way to numb our senses. Mistreating alcohol is very easy to do, especially if we are going through something difficult in life, or there is something we haven’t addressed. It could be an ongoing issue in life, in which case, this habit is one of the most difficult things to break. Of course, interventions, and seeing how this habit is negatively impacting our loved ones can be the wakeup call we need, but when we are trapped in something like this, we can be immune to any sense of empathy.

So, does alcohol serve any form of purpose in the modern world? There are so many cultures that place the act of drinking as being akin to having a good time. But, thankfully, this is slowly being addressed. Millennials are now being referred to as Generation Sensible, as they are drinking less, and abstaining from nefarious activities, and the statistics are showing this. But, there are still those out there who grow up in abusive families, or have deep rooted psychological traumas, that fuel their drinking habits.

Alcohol addiction is nothing new, but if you are one of those people who think a small glass of something doesn’t hurt, as long as you keep an eye on your habits, or make positive attempts to destress in other ways, or even look at your life stresses, you can avoid the deadly drink to solve your problems. Sure, we all have our vices, but does alcohol need to be one of them?
