3 Ways to Be More Active Every Day

(Akiit.comTired of feeling like you’re slowly getting more and more out of shape with every passing day? While it’s easy enough to tell someone to be more active, it’s a whole other thing to actually get motivated enough to do anything about it. And even if you manage to get motivated once in a while, it’s difficult to keep it up.

Here is a handful of ways to be a bit more active every day. That way, you won’t really notice it and can ease into your new and healthy lifestyle at your own pace.

#1 Stand more

You’ve probably heard that sitting too much is bad for your health, but what are we supposed to do about it? The modern lifestyle is designed for people to sit around in front of their computers all day, in any way, and not be up on our feet.

Luckily, the tide is turning and people are starting to integrate standing way more into their lifestyle. All you have to do is make sure that you have access to a standing desk so that you can increase its height when standing up – or at least make sure that you get up and walk around a bit more often.

When you get used to spending an hour or two of your working day on your feet, you won’t really notice it until you sit back down. Then you can enjoy the feeling of actually having used your body a bit during the day – and you’ll feel way better.

#2 Get an active hobby

Those who have fun when they’re active tend to be healthy without putting in much effort. It’s kind of like running around as a kid and not considering it to be exercise; it’s fun, natural, and you wouldn’t want it any other way.

Try to find something you enjoy doing that’s active or at least out in nature. Climbing, for example, is a great alternative as well as hiking and fishing.

Fishing is perhaps the least active one of the three but it’s a great alternative if you want to ease into it – and you’ll be out walking in nature. Invest in a small boat and have a look at this trolling motor mount for some great prices to get you started.

#3 Get a dog

Finally, getting a dog does not just mean that you have a new best friend, but also that you’re going to do a lot more walking in order to keep your friend happy. Dogs need to be walked several times a day – and you’ll have more than enough on your hands if you get a puppy rather than a grown-up dog.

Have a look at this article in case you’re sure if you’re able to take on the responsibility of a dog right now and keep in mind that you should only get one if you’re ready to give them a home forever.

It’s actually quite simple to be more active when you manage to turn it into fun rather than exercise. Get off the bus a few stops earlier, walk the stairs rather than catching the lift, and start to enjoy the feeling of an active body.
